ADULT LETTER
TROOP 1062
2015 GRAND CANYON TRIP
In February of this year we
announced that the Grand Canyon would be the destination in the summer of 2015.
In May of this year I asked for and was made the trip leader for this trip. We
are now at the point of planning for our High Adventure trip to the Grand
Canyon. To make this a successful trip for the youth as well as us adults, I
need to know who the adults are that will be attending. I must have a firm
commitment from all adults that want to plan to attend this trip by Monday July
7, 2014. This is a regular Troop meeting night.
This firm commitment would include a $100 deposit. We
must have a firm grasp as to who is going to attend this trip due to the strict
limits set by the National Park Service (NPS) and all of the many training needs
and planning requirements for this trip.
The Troop may need to limit the
number of youth that could attend due to the hiking crew size limits set by the
NPS while also following the Guide to Safe Scouting rules.
After We know for sure how many and
who will be participating as adults, we can then proceeded to plan the finer
details of travel dates and cost projections and prepare to open registration
up to the youth in September of 2014 at a troop meeting.
This all sounds like a long ways
away on the calendar but I assure you that we are fast approaching the point of
time that we could not make this trip happen with a group of our size due to
the many house calendars that must align for planning, preparation and payment
plans.
I look forward to having you aboard
on this trip. The youth need us as adults to help provide a program that pushes
their horizons. Anything is possible if you really want to do it.
Please let me know if you plan to
attend and also if you have any questions or concerns as an adult and your
limits. I will be happy to answer any questions or concerns that you may have.

THE YOUTH NEED US TO COMMIT AND HELP THEM WITH A
QUALITY PROGRAM
I have turned my deposit in, so we do have 2 leaders now. It would be nice to have more though.
